Basa Body - oh my goodness!

First, I have to apologize, I've been trying to get this post out for days! I have barricaded myself in my bedroom, hopefully I won't be disturbed...

I'm assuming you have all heard me talk about the Mom it Forward event in Portland I went to - the actual purpose of the event was to raise money for Yehu Moms in Kenya. There are three charities and one is Basa Body. All three charities have to do with producing and selling coconut oil and products made with the oil.

When I heard that Jyl at Mom it Forward was offering samples of Basa Body products to mom's interested in doing a review, I got my name in as fast as I could. When I found out I was getting to do it, I was thrilled! I spend a lot of time outside in the summer, camping, working in the yard, mostly barefoot. I am always looking for good skin products.

When my little box showed up, I found myself wanting to eat it, not wash with it! That soap smells SO good, you won't even believe it. Mint Chocolate Truffle Soap....mmm-mmm-mmm!
I had to keep it away from my boy and Hubby said he couldn't wait for me to wash with it! (naughty, naughty).

I have to admit, I am not crazy about coconut. The smell, the taste - just not my thing. However, this stuff has such a mild smell and really does smell good. There was also a Basa Body Stick with natural coconut oil healing balm. I tried it first. It is wonderful! The coconut melts into your skin "like butta". It isn't greasy or heavy, it makes you skin soft and it smells very light. I love it I keep it next to my side of the bed...I need more, much more!

It took me longer to try the soap. I was enjoying the smell, in general, and I was a little nervous about smelling like Mint Chocolate Truffle! It has a wonderful lather and it felt really good on my skin. The bubbles were a really dark brown, which I didn't like as much, but still it was great. My skin felt very soft and clean without feeling dry or oily. I thought the fragrance was good, not over powering or too sweet.

I asked hubby what I smelled like after my shower and he said I smelled "light and flowery" but couldn't tell exactly what it was. That's good, I think. I want to smell good, but not overwhelmingly - something, you know?

So, I went online and bought some of their body lotion (tried it in Portland, loved it!) and more body sticks! I figured I had better buy more now before everyone finds out how great it is and the price goes up.

If you are at all interested in trying the product or donating to the charity, please do. Check out Mom it Forward or Basa Body for information. I have a Chip In over on the left side if you would like to donate (it had nothing to do with me -just goes to the charity).

Oh! They are running a great gift Package for Mother's Day! It's called the Kiss Me Gift Pack and it usually sells for $34.99 and it's on sale for $29.99. AND if you buy it and enter the code "momitforward" on checkout, you are automatically entered to win a $250 Disney gift card. What more could you want?

Everyone needs gifts for mom, right? Buy a gift for Mom, help another mom. It's win-win!

Crap, here comes hubby...it's week two of "Home with Hubby" and I'm ready to go over the wall.

Send help,

PS - They also sell coconut oil for cooking...I'm saving up for some of that! As a cook, I'm dying to try it - healthy, long shelf life...check out the site, looks fabulous - Coast Coconut Farms.
Sorry, all this stuff just looks so great!

  5. You should have hid in the closet again! May have taken him longer to find you.
Lucky for me, mine is out of town and can no longer bitch about my face time with the computer.

  6. Good article. It's refreshing to see an article where a girl admits that a) girls control the dating scene and b) girls often pick guys who "know how they love Make up" rather than choose quality Make up. I can't tell you how many of my girl-friends say something to the effect of "I don't know what I saw in that jerk!" Stuff like "The Pickup Artist" works...but its because it relies on psychology and manipulation. Not something to emulate, in my opinion.
Girls, give that cute, if not shy and awkward, guy a chance! He might be the one you're looking for!
