The one where Sticky gets gifts...

I know! Who would have guessed?

Last night, I promised to tell you about the Mom it Forward Tweet Up in Portland. It was really small, unlike others(Hello New York, holy Crap!!) but man, we had a good time! We held it in a little coffee shop in the Hawthorne district. It was called Fat Straw and they had the cutest little back room; couches, wifi, the whole nine yards. The ladies there were super nice (they didn't even complain when we stood in front of their door for an extra two hours after they kicked us out) and we got to order dinner from the bar next door. They are famous for their 'bubble teas'...but for me, I no likey the tapioca. Ick.

I met our lovely Carissa there and she brought some awesome giveaways. CC was there - she had kindly agreed to be my date (why I thought I needed one, I can't really say - and regardless of any rumors I may have started, she never put out. At all. Sigh.). And the lovely Michelle of @dappersnapper fame was there as well. Go check her out. Everyone who has a young child (with the ever baggy drawers) needs her product and she is just as pretty as her picture. Plus, she's a total riot! The stories she told... And I told NO (zero, zip) embarrassing stories (about myself) and anyone that says I did is making stuff up...(it was the tapioca balls, I swear!!)

Anyhow, we met, we talked, we laughed...it was a really wonderful night. Then came the giveaways (yeah, that part was fun too!)

I won a huge box from GiftTree.com!!!!

Ok, I knew nothing about GiftTree, nothing. But Carissa said they saw her tweets about the event and offered to give us something for our raffle. Cool, huh? It was a pretty big box, but I have received a "gift box" before and there usually isn't much in it.

Not this box.

The funny thing is that t was shipped to my house, to make sure it got there in time and I didn't really look at it. If only I had known...We didn't really open it at the party. It was wrapped so well and we didn't want to mess it up. But what we did notice was it was packed with it's own pair of scissors (very handy) and an engraved tag -

Is that just the coolest thing ever? Way to go GiftTree, that was seriously over the top, awesome service!!

I did manage to wait until I got back to the hotel to open the box (didn't want to embarrass Carissa by swigging that wine in the car). Oh My God! There was SO much in this box, you wouldn't believe it! Here are some photos - they do not even do it justice, but you have to check this out!

Amazing huh? (yes, that was brie, smoked salmon and caviar in there amidst all the chocolate and wine!)

Can I just say, if you are looking for a gift, you absolutely cannot go wrong with GiftTree.com.

Thanks so much guys (yep, my diet is out the window, at least until the chocolate is gone!)

PS - Happy Earth Day!!

As AJ reminds me - "reduce, reuse, recycle, Mama - save the Earff, don't be a littlebug!!" (or litterbug, whatever)

Great job teaching them young! Thanks NickJr!
